Kia ora, Talofa lava, Mālō e lelei, Kia orana, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Mālō nī, Kamusta, Bula, Namaste!
Today we practised our lockdown emergency procedures under the guidance of Harrison Tew®, who specialise in emergency management planning for schools and educational facilities.
The procedures we follow allow us to respond safely and quickly to a range of situations.
We’re delighted that our practise went very well with students, and staff, who responded safely and calmly! Our Harrison Tew® expert partner was very impressed with our school wide response. Well done, super proud of you all!
Throughout the year we continue to practise our emergency procedure drills to ensure all staff and tamariki remain familiar with them.
Should you become aware of a lockdown or an evacuation at the School, please do not come to the School or phone, as we won’t be able to respond. Your presence or contact may make it more difficult for us or the emergency services to manage a situation.
Any information about an emergency happening at the School will be updated on our website as regularly as possible: www.viscount.school.nz
As part of the Board’s Policies and School procedures, it’s important that we have regular practises for lockdowns and evacuations so that we can all be well prepared and familiar with our procedures should a real emergency happen.
We thank you for your support and understanding as we practise being safe at School.
Fa’afetai tele lava,
Dr Deanna Johnston
