School Profile

Viscount Learning Community is based on a full primary co-educational school located in the suburb of Mangere, near the international airport. It is a U6 school with a current roll of more than 800 children. The ethnic make-up is: 40% Samoan, 26% Tongan, 12% Cook Island, 12% Maori, 4% Niuean, 6% Other . The school has a decile ranking of 1.

Viscount has been rebuilt and 'reinvented' since 1995. We have adopted a philosophy of providing our school community with the very B.E.S.T. (Better Every Single Time) in facilities, resources, staffing and learning programmes. Our excellent facilities include a gymnasium, computer centres, music centre, professional development centre, information centre and teacher's resource centre. Specialists support teachers in Literacy, I.C.T., Physical Education, Music and Information Studies & Directors of Learning co-ordinate the programmes in our teaching teams.
