The Viscount School Visual Arts Programme provides students with the opportunity to learn and develop useful, relevant artistic skills, such as observational drawing, painting techniques, basic construction, printmaking and design.
The Art Extension A small group of our most talented students are chosen each term. They are provided with more challenging projects and the opportunity to develop their skills. In term two, they focused on Abstract Art and the techniques employed by artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Jansen, Kandinsky and Pollock. Click here to see some of their work.
In term 2 this year we launched Art Club at the request of students who wanted to learn more about art, but were unable to participate in Art Extension classes. This term they focused on the work of Pablo Picasso, and created their own Picasso-style artworks, using his favourite colours, shapes and ideas. Art Club meets on Wednesdays after school. Click here to see some of the work they have produced.
The Viscount School Art Programme aims to provide a fun learning environment where students improve with each new project. At the end of their time at Viscount we hope Year 8 students feel confident and prepared for art at secondary school level.
